File Format Notes
CBV type files are Chessbase archive databases. They
can be opened with Fritz, Chessbase, Chessbase Light, Chessbase Reader, and
Chess Assistant. If you don't already have one of these chess programs, you
can go to www.chessbase.com and
download the free Chessbase Light.
PGN (Portable Game Notation) type files can be opened with almost any chess
program, and also any text editor such as MS-Word or Notepad. |

2007 Washington
Championship and Premier
The file
WAChamp07.pgn is the complete games file. The
final crosstables are in the WAChamp07.pdf PDF
file. There are 2 games in
the Premier with missing or indecipherable scoresheets: (1) Calpo-Ballard (2)
Smith-Cloy. Fred Kleist has been working on these 2 games and they may be
published in Northwest Chess along with the player-annotated games. Thanks to Drayton
Harrison for compiling these games. |

WAClass06_update.cbv (update) – The ".cbv" files are
Chessbase/Fritz format, and contain annotations to most of the games.
WAClass06.pgn (complete) |
WAClass06_update.pgn (update)
There is no commentary in the PGN files because some chess programs
have compatibility issues with annotated games. The "Update" version
of both files contains only the 10 additional games and corrected games, since
these files were originally published. If you already have a database of the
tournament games, you can copy & paste the updated games into the existing
database. The Update contains:
1) Additional games that were published in Northwest Chess magazine. 2)
Updated commentary of some games that were published in Northwest Chess. 3)
Correction of moves to Inglis-Woodlief game. The complete version
also contains corrected player names (Ignacio Perez and Dennis McGuire).
