Section Elite 8 results: Grabinsky, Aaron a 9th grader of Coquille, Dalthorp, Matt a 11th grader of Albany and Skalnes, Erik a 10th grader of Eugene tied for 1st all at 3-1. Aaron lost to Erik, Matt lost to Aaron and Erik lost to Matt.
Section Advanced results: Hawks, Brandon a 12th grader of Shelon High School won with 4.5-.5 upping his scholastic rating from 1036 to 1259 based on 23 rated games.
Section Intermediate results: Moses, Rocky of Roosevelt Middle School won 5-0.
Section Novice 1 results: Reeves, Leo a 2nd grader was the 5-0 winner.
Section Novice 2 results: Crow, Atticus a 6th grader and Glesmann, Christopher an 8th grader from Cottage Grove both scored 4-1.
92 kids in 5 sections took part in the Thanksgiving Scholastic held Nov 23 in Redmond WA as a one-day event, part of the Washington Class. David Hendricks was the TD.
K-3 Open was won by Yu, Jason with a 5-0 score
K-3 U800 was won by Zhang, Jack with a 4-0 score
4-6 Open was won by Zhang, Zachary with a 5-0 score
4-6 U900 was won by Fong, Byron with a 4.5-.5 score
7-12 Open ended in first place tie between Cherepakhin, Olga and Ranganathan, Amartya both scoring 4-1.
The Seattle Chess Club Extravaganza was held in two sections on Nov 2-4 under the directorship of Fred Kleist.
18 players in the Open section which was won with 6.5-.5 score by Roland Feng of Seattle. He drew with Bryce Tiglon of Redmond. Gabriel Zlovog won the reserve section with 5.5-1.5 over 13 others.

Due to lack of sign-ups, WCF has decided to cancel the Wenatchee Valley Open chess tournament next weekend (Nov 10-11, 2012). Please cancel any hotel reservations that you may have made. We’re very sorry for the inconvenience.
Luckily for us, the convention center will not charge a cancellation fee!
We will continue to search for opportunities to hold an event in Wenatchee sometime in the future.
