Cedar Hills Crossing Chess Club

Took my camera and the NWC Banner to Beaverton on Friday May 3, 2013. The club organizer Sean Tobin talked the mall management into letting chess be played in a empty store front. It was the TGIF May chess tournament that I visited. There is some space behind a barrier where the tournament play happens if the turnout is small. Casual play takes place near the front of the store. There were people of all ages when  I was there. Some pictures are below.

TGIF March 2013 Event Results

TIS Your Move USCF affiliate under the direction of Sean Tobin of Portland held events on March 24. The BLITZ rated event with time control of G/5 was won by Bradley Bogle with 8-2. 8 players took part. 7 players took part in the Slam played at G/90 d5. Brian Berger of West Linn won that event.

Fridays in March, from 1-27 found 12 players taking part in TGIF March 2013 event in Beaverton. Nick Raptis of Portland won with 6-0. Tied for 2nd at 4-2 were Steven Witt of Aloha and Kirk Hedlund. Time control was G/90 d5. The TD was Sean Tobin of Portland.
