The Washington G/60 tournament was held at the Tacoma CC on Nov. 9th. 7 players showed up for this event. The winners were: 1st Viktors Pupols 4.0 $40.00, 2nd Ralph Anthony 3.0 $30.00, U1600 Richard Sewell 2.0 $25.00, U1400 Ronald Purbaugh 1.0 $25.00. TD for this event was Gary Dorfner. There was one upset when Ralph Anthony (1716) defeated Paul Bartron (2138).
Paul Bartron of Tacoma repeated his 2012 victory to win the 2013 Washington Senior Championship with a 3.5-.5 score. 8 players under the direction of Gary Dorfner of Tacoma took part in the event. Second at 3-1 was Viktors Pupols. The event was held as a one day event on August 24 at the Tacoma Chess Club.
On July 27, 2013 David Bragg won the 2013 edition of the Puget Sound Open with a 4-0 score. This event was first held in the 1930s. Tacoma Chess Club was the sponsor and Gary Dorfer the tournament director of the 13 player event.
Michael Macgregor of Tacoma won the event held June 29, 2013 (USCF crosstable says June 30 but that is probably wrong) at the Tacoma Chess Club. His score was 4-0. Gary Dorfner of Tacoma was the TD for the 8 player event. The TLA says the time control was G/60; d5 while the USCF crosstable says G/65; d5.
Patrick Van Dyke of Maple Valley WA topped eight other players to win the Pierce County Open on May 18 (note the date on the USCF crosstable is wrong!). His score was 3.5-.5. 2nd at 3-1 was Paul Bartron of Tacoma. Gary Dorfner of Tacoma directed and even played a couple of games. The site was the Tacoma CC. Time control on the crosstable says G/65; d5 but your compiler believes it was G/60; d5.
Paul Bartron of Tacoma was held to a 3-1 score in the event held April 6-7, 2013 at the Tacoma Chess. That gave him first place ahead of 2.5-1.5 scorers James Colasurdo of Olympia and Matthew Nill of Brementon. 10 players took part under the direction of Gary Dorfner of Tacoma.

Mike MacGregor is 2012 Tacoma Chess Club Champion.
Mike MacGregor successfully defended his title for the 2nd year in a row.
He won all 7 rounds of the TCC Championship & he won the Oyster Bay Classic 4-0. He also tied for 1st in the Oregon Open with 4.5.
The usual TD, Gary Dorfner of Tacoma, in the usual place, the Tacoma Chess Club, held the Christmas Congress on Dec 8-9 with just 9 players. Alan Bishop of Tacoma took a 1/2 point first round bye and then won the rest of his games for a 3.5-.5 score including a win over NM Viktors Pupols (3-1) of Kingston, WA.
