A couple of weeks ago I finished playing through this collection of games. I was completely impressed! During the era in which he played the Nimzo, the Queen's Indian, the Queen's Gambit both Slav and ... e6 declined, the French Defense Winawer were new frontiers for considerable exploration. He contributed a lot in those openings. In the Slav, spurred on by Euwe in their matches for the Title. His 6th game with Euwe in the '37 match is justly famous, but their many other games worthy of great praise: the 17th game in his 1929 match with Bogoljubov, Hastings 1937 vs. Fine and vs. Tylor, the 22nd game in the '37 match vs. Euwe (life master AJ Goldsby also took notice of this outstanding game), his blindfold games vs. Schwartzs in 1926 and Kimura in 1933 display his genius. There are other games worthy of mention, perhaps the most exciting, vs. Marshall in '29. Alekhine was all that!!!
