Posters in Book Stores

Postby Russell Miller » Sat Jul 24, 2010 9:45 pm

I saw a poster in a Powell's Bookstore in Beaverton today in the game book section for a scrabble play I think it was. Wonder if a well done poster for chess clubs might be an idea to try? Seem that I recall USCF has a poster in mailings to affiliates.

The idea of a chess poster is a good seed to plant. To be well done it should have some relevance to those viewing it. The time may or may not be ready for such an effort. Bobby Fischer on the cover of Time left a legacy -- a picture of a chess board would have been a disaster. Wish I had the artistic talent to help create a well done poster.

That picture of Fischer on Life magazine, "the deadly gamesman" is one of the best pictures of all time of Bobby! I second the emotion for it to be made into a poster!
