chess titans (level 10)-Paul Weaver 2/10/14 Kings Indian Defense 1 d4 Nf6 2 c4 g6 3 Nc3 Bg7 4 e4 d6 5 Bg5 c5 6 d5 h6 7 Be3 0-0 8 Be2 e6 9 Nf3 exd5 10 exd5 (now black has his work cut out for him to try to create some initiative. white's pawn on d5 has to be targetted so ...) Na6 11 0-0 Nc7 12 Qd2 Kh7 13 b3 (white could have played better here. black proceeds with his plan unmolested) Rb8 14 Bd3 (leaving the bishop on e2 would force black to go with ... a6. white could block with a4) b5 (after 14 ... a6 15 a4 b5 in the resulting position after the captures the essential difference is that the "a" file is open) 15 a4 (after all the obvious captures black will play ... Rxb5 with an even position) bxc4 16 bxc4 Na6! (the knight gets some good chances on b4) 17 Rfb1 Nb4 18 a5 Ba6! (in some lines a sacrifice on e2 followed by ... Bxc4 figures in) 19 Be2 Re8 20 Re1 Ng4 21 Qc1(white has to reckon with the exchange sac after 21 Bd2) Qf6! (about here black gains the upper hand) 22 Ra3 Qf5! 23 Nh4 Qd7 24 Bxg4?? (24 Nf3 was indicated. Black's best after that appears 24 ... Re7 followed by a doubling of the rooks on the "e" file) Qxg4 25 Nf3 Nd3 26 Qd1 Nxe1 (this works but simpler was 26 ... Qxc4!) 27 Ng5+ (completely overlooked by black! Fortunately the knight is immune to capture!) Qxg5 28 Bxg5 hxg5 29 Qg4 (white's best here was 29 Nb5! Bxb5 30 cxb5 Rxb5 31 Re3 Rxe3 32 fxe3 Bc3 33 Qe2 Rxa5! after which black wins but it takes longer) Nd3! 30 g3 Bd4! 31 Qxg5 Nxf2! 32 Qh4+ Kg8 33 Nb5 Bxb5 34 cxb5 Rxb5 35 Kg2 Rb2! 37 Kf3 Ne4 38 Kg4 f5+ 39 Kf4 Rf2+ (I thought this was mate but black wins everything) 40 Rf3 g5+ 41 Qxg5+ Nxg5 42 Rxf2 Bxf2 43 Kxg5 c4 44 Kf4 c3 45 Kf3 Bd4 46 Kf4 c2 47 Kg5 c1Q+ 48 Kg6 Bg7 49 Kxf5 Re5+ 50 Kg4 Qf1 51 a6 Qf5+ 52 Kh4 Qh5 mate
