Washington State Elementary

Postby Russell Miller » Mon Apr 27, 2009 8:53 pm

999 players in Spokane April 25, 2009 I count.

Crosstables can be found at http://whsca.org/reports/StateElementary.html

Lots of ties in each section. Believe they use some rapid games playoff for tie-breaks but I am not really sure.

Largest section was 216 in Grade 3.

Hopefully there be in story in the June NORTHWEST CHESS.

We used the standard SCO tiebreaks, and declared all 5.0 winners co-champions.

Last year (2008) they had scholarships--trips to Nationals--and used blitz playoffs to determine the scholarship winners.

Our scholarships are different: we will pay the entry fee to the Washington Open for all those that scored 4.0+ in the championship.
