a casual chess game with a good finish I had planned

Postby PaulWeaver » Mon Jun 29, 2009 11:38 pm

this is from instantchess.com

white: a3, b4, Bc5, Rc3,Qc2, d4, e4, Re1, Bf1, g3, h2, Kh2

black: a6, Nb5, c6, Rd8, Ne7, Qe6, f6, Rf8, Kg8, g7, h7

black has just gotten through playing Nd6-b6. white's previous move had been Rc1-e1.

After shuffling the wood a bit I sent black 1 Bc4! intending 1 ... Nd5 2 Rce3! winning a piece. now 2 ... Rfe8 is met by 3 exd5 Qxd3 4 Rxe3 Rxe3 5 dxc6+ Kh8 6 Bxb5 axb5 7 d5 Re1 8 c7 Rde8 9 Bf2! 1-0

in the game I just received 1 ... Qxc4. this is handily refuted by 2 Rxc4 Nxa3 3 Qb3 Nxc4 4 Qxc4+ Rf7 5 Bxe7 Rd7 6 Bc5 1-0

Nice play!

[A few notation errors - not affecting the analysis though - white: Kg2 (? not Kh2) - 3. exd5 Qxe3 (not Qxd3).]
