{"id":1908,"date":"2014-02-27T22:57:38","date_gmt":"2014-02-28T06:57:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nwchess.com\/blog\/?p=1908"},"modified":"2017-05-06T22:08:57","modified_gmt":"2017-05-07T06:08:57","slug":"chess-jam-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nwchess.com\/blog\/2014\/02\/chess-jam-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Chess Jam Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ferndale High School in Ferndale Washington on Feb 22,\u00a02014 was the site of the 17th International Chess Jam under the direction of <strong>Randy Kaech<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The K-1 section of 11 players was won by<strong> Matthew Sanders <\/strong>of Wade King Elementary in Bellingham.<br \/>\nThe 2nd-3rd Grade Section of 31 players was won by <strong>Noah Chen <\/strong>of Assumption School in Bellingham.<br \/>\nThe 4th-5th Grade Section of 20 players was won by <strong>Nathan Chen<\/strong> of Assumption School in Bellingham.<br \/>\nThe 6th-12th Grade Section of 34 players had three players tie for 1st place: <strong>Dawson Bowhay <\/strong>of Sehome High School in Bellingham,\u00a0<strong>Jude Hoogendyk <\/strong>of Whatcom Middle School in Bellingham and <strong>Lucy Sun <\/strong>of Fairhaven Middle School in Bellingham.<\/p>\n<p>104 players played in this event in 2013 while 96 turned out for the 2014 event.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"crosstable\" href=\"http:\/\/chess.ratingsnw.com\/report13-14\/ChessJam.html\"><strong>CLICK HERE<\/strong><\/a> for the Chess Ratings Northwest crosstable.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ferndale High School in Ferndale Washington on Feb 22,\u00a02014 was the site of the 17th International Chess Jam under the direction of Randy Kaech.
