{"id":2002,"date":"2014-03-09T14:24:30","date_gmt":"2014-03-09T22:24:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nwchess.com\/blog\/?p=2002"},"modified":"2017-05-07T14:19:56","modified_gmt":"2017-05-07T22:19:56","slug":"chess4life-bellevue-catholic-challenge-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nwchess.com\/blog\/2014\/03\/chess4life-bellevue-catholic-challenge-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Chess4Life Bellevue Catholic Challenge Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Chess4Life group ran a scholastic event on March 8 in Bellevue, Washington. <strong>Lane Van Weerdhuizen<\/strong> was the director.<\/p>\n<p>24 players took part in their first tournament, Beginner Section.<strong> Adam Chung<\/strong> of St. Brendan in Bothell won that section with 4.5-.5.<\/p>\n<p>The K- 2nd Grade Section for those rated under 800 was a three way tie all with 5-0 by <strong>Dexter Farewell<\/strong>, <strong>William Huddleston<\/strong> and <strong>Henry Laun<\/strong>. All are students at St. Joseph&#8217;s in Seattle. 20 players in this section.<\/p>\n<p>The K-8 Open section had 7 players. Perfect 5-0 score by <strong>Alexander Simmons<\/strong> of St. Joseph in Issaquah won it.<\/p>\n<p>The rated under 900 in grades 3-4 had two 4-1 scores to top the section, <strong>Mason Flaat<\/strong> and <strong>Daniel Bomberger<\/strong>.
