{"id":2055,"date":"2014-03-13T19:27:48","date_gmt":"2014-03-14T03:27:48","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nwchess.com\/blog\/?p=2055"},"modified":"2017-05-07T14:54:48","modified_gmt":"2017-05-07T22:54:48","slug":"march-madness-scholastic-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nwchess.com\/blog\/2014\/03\/march-madness-scholastic-event\/","title":{"rendered":"March Madness Scholastic Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On March 8, 2014 <strong>Jerry Ramey <\/strong>directed 4 section event of scholastic chess at South Eugene High School in Eugene Oregon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Aaron Grabinsky <\/strong> a home schooled student of Coquille, Oregon with a 4-0 score won the 8 player Elite 8 section.<\/p>\n<p>With 3.5-.5 <strong>Nathan Arthurs <\/strong>of Lincoln Middle School in Pullman Washington won the Advanced section in which 14 players took part.<\/p>\n<p>The Intermediate Section of 21 players had a top scorer at 5-0, <strong>Jimmy Wang<\/strong> of Edison Elementary School in Eugene, Oregon.<\/p>\n<p>23 players in the Novice Section. 4.5-.5 by<strong> Andy Xing <\/strong> of Prairie Mountain Elementary School in Eugene, Oregon won that section.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"crosstable\" href=\"http:\/\/chess.ratingsnw.com\/report13-14\/MarchMadness.html\">CLICK HERE<\/a> for the Chess Ratings Northwest crosstable for all sections.<\/p>\n<p>The top two sections were USCF dual rated. <a title=\"USCF tables\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uschess.org\/msa\/XtblMain.php?201403083562\">CLICK HERE<\/a> for those crosstables.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On March 8, 2014 Jerry Ramey directed 4 section event of scholastic chess at South Eugene High School in Eugene Oregon.
