{"id":2324,"date":"2015-03-02T13:28:09","date_gmt":"2015-03-02T21:28:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nwchess.com\/blog\/?p=2324"},"modified":"2017-05-12T19:22:14","modified_gmt":"2017-05-13T03:22:14","slug":"2015-collyer-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.nwchess.com\/blog\/2015\/03\/2015-collyer-results\/","title":{"rendered":"2015 Collyer Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>From Facebook post by Spokane Chess Club<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>DONALDSON, RUSSELL WIN 23rd COLLYER MEMORIAL<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A California connection won Spokane&#8217;s premiere chess event, the Dave Collyer Memorial, played for the 23rd time the weekend of February 28&#8211; March 1. <strong>International Master John Donaldson<\/strong>, currently of the San Francisco area, and <strong>Darren Russell<\/strong>, a recent California transplant to Spokane, shared top honors this year with scores of 4.5. There was a four way tie for third place, that also collected the Expert and Class A prizes, at 4.0 among Tim Moroney, Alan Bishop, Steve Merwin, and David Dussome. Steve Fabian (3.5) was first in class B, while six others shared second place: Dan McCourt, Ron Kirsch, Sherwood Moore, Doug Sly, Dave Griffin, and Dan Hochee.<\/p>\n<p>The Class C prizes were shared by Peter Schumaker, Ted Baker, and Alex Popescu with scores of 3.0. First place in Class D was Savannah Naccarato (3.5), while second in the class was split by Jeff Jaroski and Pat Kirlin (2.0). The Class E section was won by Garrett Casey (3.0), while Michael Munsey (2.0) finished second.
