Northwest Chess Press Release 2012-02

November 22, 2012

Jeffrey Roland takes over as Northwest Chess editor

Per previous press release 2012-01, Jeffrey Roland of Boise, Idaho has taken over as Northwest Chess editor, effective with the December 2012 issue, following a four-month period of training as assistant editor under the direction of interim editor Frank Niro, who is thanked for his generous service.

In addition, the just-completed December Northwest Chess magazine is a special 32-page edition with eight pages printed in color, including a cover photo of David Rupel in Russia, and two pieces of chess-themed holiday artwork. Due to the extra cost of color printing, we will not be doing this every month, however sponsors or advertisers interested in having a color advertisement on the back cover can contact business manager Eric Holcomb for pricing information.

Chess-related content for possible publication in Northwest Chess may be submitted to Jeffrey Roland by e-mail to jroland@cableone.net. It is recommended that publisher Duane Polich (duane@combonate.com) be included on the cc: list. Any content of an advertising nature, or any content where payment is requested for publication, must also be submitted to and approved by business manager Eric Holcomb (eric@holcomb.com or info@nwchess.com).

Northwest Chess is a non-profit organization which publishes Northwest Chess magazine representing the Washington Chess Federation (WCF), the Oregon Chess Federation (OCF) and the Idaho Chess Association (ICA).
