Aug 4 FREE Simultaneous Chess Exhibition by Oregon State Chess Champion Steven Breckenridge. Time: 1:00 PM. A simultaneous chess exhibition is an event in which one player plays multiple games at a time with a number of other players. In celebration of the upcoming U.S. Open, Portland Chess Shop in conjunction with Director Park is proud to present Oregon State Chess Champion and Chess Master Steven Breckenridge, USCF 2349, who will play 20 - 25 challengers simultaneously. Director Park is a chess-friendly park near Pioneer Square in downtown Portland at SW Park and Yamhill. Registration starts at 11:00 AM.

Four sections: High School/Junior High Championship Section and U1200 Section, Elementary Championship Section and U1000 Section. Elementary is considered Grade 6 or under, Junior High, grades 7 to 9 and High School grades 10 to 12. Your grade is considered as of the school year just completed. Please note: If High School/Junior High section are larger than expected, sections may be split to make two sections instead of one. EF: $25 before 7/29, $35 after or on site.
