2012 Annual Meeting Report
by Russell Miller
The results of the election at the sparsely attended Portland Chess Club annual meeting: Gregory Alpernas of Lake Oswego, Oregon was elected President for 2012. He replaces Mike Janniro of Portland who will continue on the board. Neil Dale of Portland continues as Vice-President. Longtime Sec./Treas. Mike Morris of Portland will continue in that post. Barb Fortune of Tualatin will also continue on the board of officers. The Treas. report showed better revenue in 2011 than in 2010, and tournament attendance was up. An Internet 6-board match against San Francisco was discussed. In a drawing for those attending, Mike Lilly gave away some gift certificates to Starbucks and Powells, while Russell Miller donated some 1/2-year sets of Inside Chess to the drawing.
